Do you have a story and photo you would like to share about your DCC adopted kitten or cat?
We're looking for some laughs, maybe some tears, how they have changed your life, how they have touched your heart.  We will post your photo and story on our home page to share with
all of our visitors.  Maybe you'll inspire someone to share their life with a homeless cat.

Please send a photo and your story to:

Thank you for considering adoption.  Please be aware that we are not a shelter.  We care for the cats and kittens in our foster homes, therefore we do not have hours of operation.  Please allow 10 business days for processing.  All cats and kittens are adopted out based on a spay/neuter agreement if they are not altered at the time of the adoption.  DCC has the right to deny or deline any applicant.

What's required to adopt:

  • You must be 21 years of age or older.
  • You must provide all the required information on the adoption application.
  • You must be willing to provide a loving home, medical care and lifelong care for the cat you wish to adopt.
  • Your cat must go home in a cat carrier.
  • If you live in a rental property, we’ll want to confirm that your landlord allows cats in your home.
  • A tax-deductible donation, which is listed in each cat's biography, to reimburse veterinary costs incurred.

We require that each of our cats are adopted out to a permanent, stable, safe, and loving home for their entire life.

DCC is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization.  Our adoption fees are applied to medical expenses, supplies, and transportation costs.

Vet bills are our biggest expense.  All animals are thoroughly examined by a certified vet prior to release for adoption.  All kittens are wormed and given their first distemper shot and all adult cats are altered, up-to-date on shots, given flea control, and wormed.  Both kittens and cats are tested for FIV and FeLV prior to being adopted.  We receive dozens of young, un-weaned kittens (a.k.a. bottle babies) each year.  Most rescues will not deal with these kittens.  They have a good reason.  Kittens this young require a lot of care and often need medical attention.  We also rarely receive any kitten that doesn't need antibiotics or more when they arrive to one of our foster homes.  If one kitten in the litter is sick, they all will require treatment.  Once we commit to saving a cat, we commit to the well being of that life and will treat and care for them as one of our own, but the costs are high - both emotionally and financially.

There is no profit in our rescue - lots of debt, lots of heartache, headache, and stress - but we do go away with the knowledge that we made a difference to that one precious life.

Please also check your local shelters - Worcester County Animal Control, Worcester County Humane Society, Wicomico Humane Society, Somerset County Humane Society, Sussex County SPCA. to name a few.

Please submit an ONLINE APPLICATION from our website prior to contacting Delmarva Cat Connection.

Applications are reviewed by receipt date.  If there is more than one approved applicant, contact will be made based on the application date and time.

Please review the ADOPTION CONTRACT which is required to be signed by both the adopter and DCC Representative at the time of the adoption.
