Lilly and Luna their story

2/2022

It was cold in February 2022 when two little faces appeared on the other side of my sliding glass door. Their eyes glowed in the night and I could barely make them out before they scurried  away.  I felt bad because they were cold and hungry. So, I put food and water out and slowly they began to trust me.  They became comfortable enough to show up during the day, regularly lounging around the back deck in anticipation of the treats and attention I would give them.

They often used the heated outside cat house until one day they ventured inside our house, a little more often each time. As this went on for a while, I began to notice they were getting larger quicker and seemed normal. I figured they may have a problem so I planned a visit to the veterinarian.

But, while inside on April 20 2022 Luna then Lilly gave birth to four kittens each!!!  They helped each other through the birthing, nursing and rearing process.  A few times we became worried when Lily was having labor difficulty .Amazingly,  Luna held Lily in her arms( paws) while liking her face until the kittens were delivered one by one. I had never seen anything like it. Lily helped nurse Luna's kittens and vice versa. They are alway touching paws or tails keeping a close eye on one another. Clearly they are a tightly  bonded pair.

Finally, three months after giving birth to eight kittens they have had some time to play and run around carelessly like kittens should. They had to grow up quickly having kittens so young. They did a fantastic job and would be lost without each other. Unfortunately, They will be without their beloved kittens so I can't bear to think how they would feel to be without each other!

Thank you for understanding their true bond and keeping them together!
