Do you have a story and photo you would like to share about your DCC adopted kitten or cat?
We're looking for some laughs, maybe some tears, how they have changed your life, how they have touched your heart.  We will post your photo and story on our home page to share with
all of our visitors.  Maybe you'll inspire someone to share their life with a homeless cat.

Casper is a beautiful Winter Siamese who is very affectionate once he gets to know you and realizes that you are his protector. He puts his head in your hand asking you to please pet him under his chin. But Casper has been through so much in his short life that we expect it will take him a bit longer than usual to acclimate to his new surroundings. He was accepted into the Delmarva Cat Connection foster care program at the end of September 2020 after losing both of his human parents within a short period of time. His mother passed away, and within weeks of her death his daddy passed away also from complications after surgery.  The family member who came to clean out the apartment brought a large dog with him who terrorized poor Casper. Casper spent most of his time "hiding" in his litter pan to get away from the dog, but because the litter pan was not being properly cleaned, Casper developed a severe infection in the nail beds of all four of his paws. It took months for us to get the infections completely healed and it has left him with sensitive feet. He will require special pelletized newspaper litter such as Yesterday's News to prevent the infections from coming back. (This litter can be purchased through Amazon and Chewy or at pet stores such as Petsmart and Petco.) Regular clay or clumping litter particles accumulate in the damaged area of his paws around the nail beds and may cause painful new infections to develop. Casper is still frightened of the unfamiliar and will need a patient owner who understands that he will need a longer time than most kitties to feel comfortable in his new home and to allow his true loving personality to shine through. Casper is looking for a quiet home with NO DOGS and no preschool age children. Can you find room in your heart and home for this beautiful special needs boy?
